TWO accidents on the M65 near Blackburn caused chaos for motorists this morning.

Four vehicles were involved in a smash on the eastbound carriageway between junctions three and four at around 7.45am.

The incident involved a silver Ford Fiesta, a blue Vauxhall Astra, a red Vauxhall Insignia and a white Ford Transit van.

Two people were taken to hospital suffering from minor injuries, including neck and back pain.

Ten minutes later five vehicles were involved in another accident on the westbound carriageway.

Police said the vehicles have been moved on to the hard shoulder.
