Caribbean cuisine has come to the banks of the Leeds Liverpool Canal, bucking the trend of pub closures.
And the man behind the opening of the Calypso Caribbean Restaurant, Dave Wilson, is confident the new venture can hit the right note with the Blackburn public.
Dave, described by his West Indian friends as a “white guy who cooks black food” formerly ran his restaurant at the Woodlands Hotel in Preston New Road but has now taken over The Wharf at Eanam, close to Blackburn town centre.
And he plans a gastronomic and musical revolution at the canal side venue with live music and dance topping the bill.
