A HOAX 999 call had both Burnley fire engines searching for a bogus car crash this morning.
A caller rang at 4.30am and claimed a car had smashed into a lamppost ‘near a Kwik Save in Burnley’.
But after 15 minutes, neither pump could find any incident and the call, made from Burnley town centre, was put down as malicious.
Crew manager Naveed Sharif said: “Both Burnley pumps were tied up roaming the area, looking for an incident which hadn’t happened.”
