A FATHER-OF-FOUR who flouted a suspended jail term and stole some DVDs got a last chance to prove he can mend his ways.
Burnley Crown Court heard Carl Poynton, 32, had not been doing well on the order, but had now improved his behaviour.
He had not been in trouble since last July and a judge said she was encouraged by his progress.
The court was told Poynton, of Avenue Parade, Accrington, had been given 52 weeks in jail, suspended for 18 months, with 18 months supervision and a 12 month drugs programme, for producing cannabis and burglary, last July.
Twelve days later he stole a bag of DVDs from a market and was convicted of theft.
He was said to have re-engaged with the order since December.
Judge Beverley Lunt extended the operational period of the suspended term to two years and also gave Poynton a 12 months conditional discharge.
