A DOCTOR returned to his former college to help students achieve their dreams as part of a pioneering programme.
GP Nazneen Begum went back to Nelson and Colne College to inspire young people on the Pre-Med programme.
The college has developed the course to help students who want careers in medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and other science careers.
They attend regular additional sessions, lectures with industry professionals and attend field trips to specialist facilities such as Christie Hospital and NOWGEN genetics.
And they are also given help in areas including preparations for interviews with experienced staff on medical, veterinary and dentistry courses.
Nazneen said: “I was delighted to be asked to return to my old college to help inspire young people to enter the profession. The Pre-Med programme really is a fantastic course which gives young people an insight into the various careers available.”
