A MOTHER-OF-TWO who wed a Nigerian for cash in a sham marriage had her real partner’s brother as a witness, a court heard.

Martina Keselova, 22, who has got pregnant since she was arrested and charged, said of her “groom” Adebayo Aina when she was arrested: “I do not love that man. I got paid £1,500.”

Both she and her real brother-in-law Martin Kurej, 22, are now behind bars after the ceremony at St Andrew's Church, Accrington, in January 2009.

The wedding was said to have taken place the very day the vicar rang to say the marriage application had been successful.

In a further twist, Kurej’s mother, Renata Kurejova, 42, is also likely to end up in prison, after she too entered a sham marriage at the church when she already had a husband.

Keselova and Kurej had earlier both admitted assisting unlawful immigration to a member state.

Keselova was jailed for 16 months at Burnley Crown Court, while Kurej was locked up for eight months.

Kurejova has earlier pleaded guilty to perjury by signing the marriage register, bigamy and assisting unlawful immigration.

She will be sentenced on February 24 and has been warned she faces jail.
