THREE workers have been sacked from Blackburn technology firm Promethean following theft of multi-media equipment.
Blackburn magistrates heard that warehouseman Lawrence Naylor, who worked at Promethean, Lower Philips Road, had been involved in the theft of two multi-media players which were then passed to another man, before ending up in a second-hand shop.
Naylor, 23, of Robinson Street, Blackburn, pleaded guilty to two charges of theft. The case was adjourned to August 30 for details of compensation to be clarified.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said two drivers had also been arrested and charged with theft of projectors. They told Naylor if they could leave four of the units at his home he could keep two.
Mr Taylor said: "It was an offer he should have refused. All three have lost their jobs as a result."Judith Balderson, prosecuting, said a member of staff from Promethean was passing a second-hand shop when they saw a projector which they immediately recognised.
The shopkeeper told police he had bought the units from a man who said he had bought them from Naylor.
A Promethean spokesman said the firm did not want to comment on the case, but confirmed three workers had been sacked.
