UNEMPLOYED Accrington residents are being offered a six-month training opportunity by Hyndburn Homes Repairs.
The company is currently looking for a trainee aged between 18 and 24 who will undertake environmental improvement work and painting in the area, designed to lead to a job placement.
Ross Hemmings, from Hyndburn Homes Repairs, said: “As well as gaining valuable employment experience and new skills the applicant will also be engaging with the local community and making small changes that will make a big difference.”
The scheme is part of the Future Jobs Fund managed by the Department for Works and Pensions which is designed to ensure 18 to 24 year olds gain a job placement.
To qualify for the position, applicants will need to have been unemployed for six months or more and have a desire to work outdoors on active projects.
Applications should be made through local job centres.
