A UNIQUE business centre set up in a market hall is almost full after less than six months of operating.

The Enterprise Haven, developed by Hyndburn Council and business support programme No Limits, created 21 incubator units for new businesses on the disused mezzanine level of the Grade II listed Accrington Market Hall.

The centre is run by Hyndburn Enterprise Trust, which also provides on-site business advice and support.

And the centre also includes a hot desk room, designed for fledgling businesses needing a move away from home, but without the overheads of a permanent office.

Coun Marlene Haworth said: “Our research showed that one of the issues people faced when starting a business was loneliness.

"The hot desk scheme means that for an affordable fixed fee people can come over to the market hall and use a desk as often as they need.”
