THE family of a Darwen cancer sufferer are continuing their efforts to raise £30,000 for charity.
Youth MP for Blackburn with Darwen, Matt Worden, 15, and his father David, 43, will do a number of events to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust by April 2007.
The family, of The Meadows, Darwen, decided to raise cash for the charity after son and brother Christopher, 17, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease in March.
He is currently undergoing treatment.
David and some of his friends recently had their heads shaved and raised £2,700.
The fund-raising efforts will culminate in April when David, managing director of RS Plating Limited, Burnley, and friend Malcolm Brown, of Bolton-by-Bowland, will cycle from the Eiffel Tower to Barcelona.
"This is something I felt I wanted to do, to try to give a little bit back," David said.
He said his son had not been able to benefit from the services of the trust as its nearest base was in Manchester.
Hodgkin's disease, sometimes called Hodgkin's lymphoma, is a cancer which starts in lymphatic tissue.
The lymph nodes are small, bean-shaped organs found underneath the skin in number of places in the body, like the neck and underarm.
