YOU won’t find a trilby or a long mac in Rebecca Sutton-Gregory’s wardrobe — that’s not her style.

But the bubbly blonde businesswoman does carry dark glasses, a wig and a night vision camera in her handbag.

For with a team of 10 friends, who have all been cheated on in past relationships, they make up East Lancashire-based Lady Detective Agency.

It may sound like a chick flick, but this firm of private investigators, with offices in Burnley and Clitheroe, are making a serious living.

Rebecca, 25, has caught more than 20 philandering men with her service of surveillance, tracking and even honey trapping, since setting up six months ago.

“I have no one working for me who hasn’t been cheated on, it’s important my staff understand what our clients are going through,” said the mother of one and former property developer.

“The world is built on lies and I thrive on the truth, I like helping people, and hopefully we can make a difference.”

But it’s not just men who cheat, a quarter of Rebecca’s client base are men wanting to find evidence on their unfaithful wives in order to protect assets during divorce proceedings.

And if you’re having a fling on your boss’s time, or refusing to pay child benefits, by claiming you’re not working — watch out, Rebecca and her team may be onto you too.

Solicitors firms involved with criminal and civil cases and missing people searches also feature on Rebecca’s client base.

One of the secrets to their success lies in their appearance.

“We don’t look like private detectives, that’s why we have never been rumbled,” said Rebecca, who goes under cover wearing a variety of coloured wigs, hats and glasses.

“We could be following someone and if they go in a pub, we’ll go in. And two girls enjoying a drink doesn’t look suspicious.

“We always carry cameras so we’ll take photos of the person under surveillance making it look like we’re taking shots of each other.

"Recently we had two girls following the husband, another two following the mistress, so when they met and went into a restaurant, we just looked like four girls on a night out,” said Rebecca who previously worked as a Marilyn Monroe look-a-like.

Rebecca and her team, which includes some former police officers, work seven days a week following cases as they drive, arrive at work, or enjoy a night out.

And they have all be trained in surveillance and investigation techniques — but is it morally acceptable to use a honey trapper to bait a cheating spouse?

“I don’t make money from wrecking marriages. The cheating half of the couple does that all by themselves.

“Remarkably most couples stay together after the infidelity, sometimes it’s just a wakeup call they need.

“We don’t encourage honey trapping, we do it as a last resort. We would recommend surveillance first.

“Our girls won’t go any further than getting a phone number or arranging a date, a kiss if they have to.

“But we won’t cheat with your partner. All you need is the evidence of intent.”

And the Lady Detective Agency website has a whole host of equipment for paranoid partners, including a deleted text message device, key fob voice recorders and computer mouse bugs.

There is even an online quiz to see if your partner’s behaviour meets the criteria of a cheater.

Rebecca added: “Most people aren’t sad when we find evidence, but relieved that their spouse will have to come clean.

“And if we don’t find anything after reasonable attempts, we will advise the client that it might be their insecurities that are the problem in their relationship – that however hasn’t happened yet.”
