TWIN brothers who were bullied at school have been backed by a national anti-bullying campaign to produce a film to raise awareness about the problem.

Kyle and Liam Bashford, from Blackburn, have written and produced a trailer for their feature film Unspoken which follows the lives of a number of youngsters suffering at the hands of bullies.

The former Blackburn College media students revealed they were inspired to write the script and pursue the project after drawing on their own experiences in high school.

Liam, 22, said: “We thought of the idea two years ago when we flew out to Hollywood during the 10-hour trip.

“Bullying is personal to a lot of people in the world.

“My brother and I were bullied in school because we were twins, we were different. Being bullied affected us.

“We were really shy in school and never really talked about it.”

Kyle and Liam have produced an emotive five-and-a-half minute trailer for the feature film which has been backed by charity Beatbullying.

Beatbullying works with children and young people who have been affected by bullying and aims to change attitudes to eradicate bullying.

Kyle and Liam have secured help from film producer Sherilee Wedderburn, and actress Millie Midwinter-Lean who plays the character Rose in the film.

Liam revealed they are currently in talks to secure a Harry Potter actor and another from Disney to star in the film.

He said: “We have launched the Unspoken trailer on YouTube as well as our website.

“When we wrote the feature length story beatbullying, a leading anti-bullying charity is backing our film.”
