RIBBLE Valley Radio has been given a boost thanks to sponsorship from a local car dealership.
Bowker BMW, based in Blackburn, recently put its money where its mouth is to sponsor a day on air for the radio station, which operates from the St Mary's Centre, Church Street, Clitheroe.
Ribble Valley Radio was set up in 2005, running a four week trial broadcast in December.
Now the station is in its second trial broadcast with the aim of achieving a full license later this year.
Helen Randle, of Ribble Valley Radio, said: "We are a not-for-profit charitable organisation, a community radio station run entirely by volunteers.
"We have raised the money to build the studios and pay for the OFCOM licence for our month-long broadcasts purely from sponsorship."
Ribble Valley Radio can be heard across East Lancashire and is being broadcast on 87.7FM. Visit www.ribblevalleyradio.org.uk
