Ribble Valley MP Nigel Evans has welcomed the decision to axe the Child Support Agency.
The government yesterday announced plans to scrap the controversial system of getting parents to pay maintenance to their separated partner to help look after their child.
The Tory backbencher said he had received many complaints from constituents about the agency.
He said: "The CSA has brought misery to thousands of people up and down the country."
