A Great Dane dog brought traffic to a standstill in Haslingden Old Road, Oswaldtwistle around 8.15am yesterday.
Motorists slammed on their brakes as the dog weaved in and out of traffic and ran out in front of vehicles.
A specialist police dog handler was called to bring it to safety.
