A SUITCASE of high value jewellery has been stolen from the boot of a car after the owners were threatened.

Two men, both wearing baseball caps, approached the owners of a gold coloured Jaguar saloon car parked on Barlow Street, Rawtenstall, at around 1.50pm on Wednesday.

After threatening a man and a woman with violence, they stole the suitcase from the boot of the vehicle before making their way on foot onto St Mary’s Way and fleeing.

Both offenders are described as being white and of stocky builds.

The first man is described as aged between 20 and 30 years old, around 6ft tall with heavy stubble.

He was wearing a plain black baseball cap with a black top, dark trousers and dark gloves.

The second man is shorter at 5ft 6inches tall and believed to be older, in his mid 40s.

He is described as having stubble and was wearing a dark blue top and dark blue baseball cap.
