A LANDMARK mill in the middle of Earby looks set to become a major base for an East Lancashire electrical goods chain.
Bosses at Harry Garlick wanted to adapt Albion Mill, Albion Road, into a warehousing and distribution site for their local shops.
Parish councillors protested, claiming the plans would affect the village’s character and disturb nearby residents.
And neighbours were worried about the volume of traffic attracted to the mill and potential noise nuisance.
But planning officers stressed that more staff worked at the mill when Damart was based there and West Craven councillors approved the scheme.
