CHANGES in Pendle's planning system are being discussed with members of the public in libraries across the area.
Over the next few years the Pendle Local Plan will be replaced by a series of documents collectively called the local development framework (LDF).
The first are known as development plan documents (DPDs).
These have legal standing and set out the key policies the council will use to control development in Pendle.
The second, called supplementary planning documents, (SPDs), provide additional guidance for a particular area of Pendle or a specific subject matter.
And the third set of process documents are concerned with how local people will be involved in the preparation of DPDs and SPDs and review progress at the end of each year.
To comment on the new planning system or find out when officers will be at a library near you, call John Halton on (01282) 661330 or e-mail john.halton@pendle.gov.uk.
Closing date for comments is Monday July 24.
