AT noon on Friday April 30, I stopped in my car at the traffic lights on Revidge at Four Lanes End, because they were on red.
On my right was a man, followed by a young girl, both on bicycles. He edged his way into the middle of the junction and when he saw that there was nothing coming, he beckoned the girl to follow, with the lights still on red.
She hesitated but he rode off down Shear Brow, the lights still on red, beckoning her to follow.
I couldn’t believe my eyes! A man encouraging a young girl to take the risk of cycling through traffic lights on red! I hope he reads this and feels ashamed.
