A THIEF broke into the post office on Parliament Street, Burnley, on Tuesday night and stole £70 in coins.
The culprit forced open a side door and gained entry into the building between 11.20 and 11.25.
It was when an internal door was broken open that the alarm sounded and the thief made off with the cash.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the robber, who is described as a white male, 5ft 7in, of slim build, scruffy brown dark hair, wearing a tracksuit jacket with a white line down the sleeve and dark trousers.
Anyone with information should contact Burnley Police Station on 01282 425001.
