POLICE were today quizzing a 69-year-old mother who is accused of stabbing her daughter during a family domestic in Burnley.
Officers said a 47-year-old woman suffered a single stab wound to her abdomen and was taken to Burnley General Hospital by ambulance following an incident at a house in Grange Street.
Her injury is said to be serious but is not believed to be life-threatening.
The incident occured at 9.45pm yesterday inside the house and was reported to police by the victim's sister.
Police confirmed they were set to interview the mother of the victim today in connection with the alleged stabbing.
Sergeant Gavin Shaw, of Burnley Police, said: "There were a few people at the house in Grange Street at the time of the incident and at this stage we do not know for certain who lived there.
"A knife has been recovered at the scene and a 69-year-old woman has been arrested."
