LANCASHIRE householders are tapping in to their best ever water supplies, a report on United Utilities by a Government watchdog says.
The annual report by the Drinking Water Inspectorate shows that the overall quality of drinking water in the North West has improved for the 12th year in succession.
Frank White, United Utilities head of drinking water quality, said the results showed the benefits of the massive and continuing investment in the region's water network.
"This report is good news for our customers and the best bit is that it just keeps on getting better," he said.
"Between 2005 and 2010 we are investing more than £1 billion alone on drinking water projects."
