A MAN whose estranged wife was stabbed to death at her home has been charged with her murder.

Zameer Ahmed, 26, was due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court today to face the charge of killing Nazia Ahmed, 23.

Nazia died after being stabbed at her home in Shear Bank Road, Blackburn, on June 17.

Ahmed has also been charged with wounding Nazia's sister Shazia, 20, who was seriously injured in the incident.

She has now been released from hospital after surgery for stab wounds to her hand and body.

Ahmed was arrested on Monday night in Blackburn and was interviewed by officers yesterday.

More than 1,000 mourners attended Nazia's funeral.

The former Blackburn College student was buried at Pleasington Cemetery after a ceremony took place at Randal Street mosque on Friday.
