A CHURCH has renewed calls for help in its campaign to raise £30,000 for dry rot repairs.
Bosses at St John’s, Baxenden, said the cash was needed to pay contractors who recently carried out the emergency work.
The Rev Joe Fielder said the repairs, above one of the large windows at the historic church in Manchester Road, were vital to ensure the future of the building.
He said: “The dry rot was first spotted late last summer and we knew we had to act straight away.
“We have completed much of the remedial work already, but now we need to pay for it.
"It is an awful lot of money and the church just does not have those sorts of reserves.”
