Lancashire dialect poet Jim Atherton is the new poet laureate' for Hoddlesden.
Jim said: "I am always happy to attend and write poems for social functions, especially fundraising events in my home town of Darwen.
"I am now really thrilled to be able to represent and write poetry for Hoddlesden in this way."
