TODMORDEN'S MP Chris McCafferty has expressed her delight at the start of free bus pass travel during off-peak hours for the over-60s and disabled.
She said: "For many older people this will mean they can go about their daily lives as well as enjoy trips to see family and friends without having to worry about the cost.
"We already had a reasonable travel scheme for older people, and the new free scheme will be a tremendous advantage for most local people who qualify."
