A FAMILY from hell, headed by a mother-of-13, have been hit with anti-social behaviour orders in a bid to restore peace to their neighbourhood.

As Ellen Morris, of Duckworth Street, Barrowford, and sons Ryan, 11, and Nathan McKenzie, 10, were given the court orders, police revealed they had sparked more than 200 complaints from terrified neighbours in just two years.

And jobless Morris, 40, who claims £25,000 a year in benefits, and her sons were warned by Reedley magistrates they faced being locked up if they flouted the orders.

Morris was given an ASBO for failing to supervise her children which allowed them to run riot', as well as abusing and threatening neighbours herself.

The reign of terror included: * hurling missiles at homes and people.

* shouting abuse and threats to people in the street.

* intimidating residents.

* Rampaging through gardens and yards.

Police today welcomed the order. PC Karen Fitzpatrick, anti-social behaviour case work manager, said: "There have been more than 200 complaints against them in the past two years.

"There were hundreds of incidents ranging from nuisance, damage and threatening and abusive behaviour that is anti-social.

"Despite the fact every intervention has been made available she has not worked with us.

"This has resulted in the increased levels of anti-social behaviour by these two children because of her lack of supervision and control."

Morris, who was banned for drink driving last year, caused a storm in March when magistrates wiped out nearly £1,900 in fines after she pleaded poverty when she admitted driving while disqualified.

Following her punishment of a further two-year ban and 12-month community order she was back in court just one week later for drink driving.

Earlier this year she was also one of the first people in the country to be hit with a maximum 12-month parenting order after she failed to send three of her children to school for six months.

After lengthy legal arguments Morris's solicitor Geoff Ireland agreed to the orders which run until May 11, 2009.

Morris's order prevents her from: * acting, inciting, encouraging or permitting others to act in an anti-social manner, likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to neighbours and visitors.

The McKenzies' ASBO also carries the condition as well as barring them from: * Associating with Rudi Lockett or Connor Kennedy.

* Throwing any item at any person or property.

* Entering gardens, yards, drives or paths of other properties unless invited by people living there.

Handing out the orders chairman Chris Keelman said: "People are very upset and have reached the end of their tether.

"If you break any of these you are likely to be sent away.

"It is so serious that if you fail to obey this there are very few courses of action left other than to send you away. The ball is now in your court."
