HAVING worked his magic and brought Johnny Cash to a new generation of music lovers, producer Rick Rubin is attempting to repeat the trick with Neil Diamond.
The majority of tracks feature Diamond singing along to his own guitar accompaniment and the result is at times moving and well worth a listen.
The distinctive growl is still in the voice but without the showbiz element and it's much the better for that. Rubin strikes again.
