A Rishton man who threw a vodka bottle through the window of a moving car was fined £50 by Hyndburn magistrates.
Jan Clough, 21, of Spring Street Rishton, had been drinking before the incident.
He said he had drunk vodka and lager before attempting to throw the empty vodka bottle into the canal. He missed and hit the car.
He was also ordered to pay and £200 compensation to the driver.
