Firefighters were called to St Paul's C of E Primary School, Union Road, Oswaldtwistle after a pupil got her leg stuck sliding down a bannister.
The crew was called at 10.30am on Friday to free the girl after teachers' attempts to release her failed.
A fire spokesman said: "The girl got her leg stuck between the wall and the banister up to about her knee and we had to use a socket set to unbolt the banister and free her."
