THE owners of a Chinese takeaway have been forced to install CCTV to catch youths filming pranks for a "Jackass"-style website in their shop.

King-hei and Mandy Lam, from the Golden Ocean takeaway on Bolton Road, Darwen, said they had been "plagued" by the same set of teenagers for months. The most recent incident was two weeks ago.

The couple had seen the youngsters with video cameras and said they were "horrified" when they discovered that footage of the pranks could be viewed by anybody on the Live Now Die Later website.

Now the couple are looking to turn the tables on the youngsters by filming them with their own cameras and handing the footage to police.

In one clip filmed by the youths, two of the gang members wait under the takeaway counter for Mrs Lam to come out of the kitchen, then jump out and scare her.

And in another video, a group of youngsters are filmed starting a fight in the shop.

Last week the Lancashire Evening Telegraph revealed that attempts to shut down the notorious website, based on the MTV Jackass show, had failed.

Police and an MP also slammed magistrates for letting off' the 17-year-old Darwen youth who they believe masterminds the Live Now Die Later site, after he pleaded guilty to assault and intent to injure last November.

The case was brought after he set a boy's back on fire and burnt a smiley face into another boy's arm.

But the boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was given a conditional discharge after Blackburn youth court was told the "victims" willingly took part.

Officers have now launched an investigation into the "new" footage, which has appeared on the site since the court case.

Mr Lam said: "We are having a lot of problems with this gang of youngsters causing trouble in our takeaway.

"It always happens on a Saturday night and there is usually between 10 and 12 of them together and we have seen them filming at least four times.

"It is not only very annoying but it is upsetting too especially for my wife who has to call me out of the kitchen to come and help her.

"We always call the police and they do come. But as soon as the gang see the police they just run off and then when the police have gone they come back.

"I don't know why they enjoy frightening and harassing people so much."

Mr Lam said he bought CCTV after the takeaway's window was smashed and said he would pass on any footage of the gang to Darwen police.

He added: "Hopefully they can follow it up. Maybe we can turn the tables."
