A LANCASHIRE policeman accused of making pirate CDs and DVDs has denied the allegations.
PC James Moodie, from Burnley, denied 17 charges of making counterfeit goods contrary to copyright laws prior to April 30, 2004.
Alongside him in the dock at Liverpool Crown Court was his wife, Jane Moodie, who is also a serving police officer.
She denied attempting to pervert the course of justice involving attempting to conceal items she believed might implicate her husband in copyright offences.
The items involved a cardboard box containing CDs, empty DVD boxes and CD cases.
The CDs included Madonna's "The American Life", Sugarbabes' "Free" and the DVDs included "Love Actually" and "Master and Commander".
Their appearance follows a 15-month investigation by the professional standards department of Lancashire Constabulary into allegations of counterfeit discs being sold to officers at police stations across the county.
James Moodie, who works in Burnley, and Jane Moodie, 36, were both remanded on bail to await their trial, expected to last a week, beginning on March 27.
