THE demise of the industrialised world has never been so funny.

Rob Newman and Mark Thomas's politically charged comedy stylings paint a particularly bleak picture about the state of our world. But you can't help but laugh.

You wouldn't think the fact that the industrialised world could grind to a halt because the world's oil is running out was funny - but Newman made it so. His delivery represents the man - anarchic.

From the languid to the quick-fire, Newman delivers a mass of facts about our world and complicated issues that were not only understandable but also humorous. Thomas, on the other hand, is able to speak from experience about taking it to the man.

Famous for his antics on his TV show, the Mark Thomas Comedy Product, he lifts the lid on how he set himself up as an international arms dealer and tells you a few things that George W Bush and the world's media tend to skirt over.

Thomas, like Newman, presents a world of political facts but in a style easy for the layman to comprehend (luckily for me).

I can understand that political comedy, on the face of it, may not be everyone's cup of tea.

But believe me when I say that there's nothing to be afraid of and it might even make you stop and think.

It's worth going just to hear 'Rock around the Clock' sung in Arabic!
