The Seasiders didn't have the brightest of starts as the passing football which served them so well at Bournemouth the other week proved impossible on the Bloomfield Road cabbage patch.

The Glovers had the brighter start with striker Kevin Gall missing a host of excellent chances for the visitors. The pacy front man was always in the right position to pick up Phil Jevons' flick ons but seemed to have forgotten where the goal was.

Simon Grayson's men perked up after the break with the set piece skills of midfielder, Neil Wood, ultimately proving to be Yeovil's undoing.

Five minutes after the break Wood stepped up from the right hand touch line to curl a sweet left footed free kick into the centre of the goal. Nobody dealt with it and the faintest of touches from visiting defender, Andy Lindegaard, only helped the ball in to the net.

Five minutes later, Wood's corner from the right was almost turned in by impressive on-loan defender, Andy Taylor but fell instead on to the shin of John Murphy and past keeper Chris Weale for the all-important second goal.

One disappointing moment for Blackpool came with the booking of Marcus Bean, who faces a one match suspension, although the beginning of March 'amnesty' for players with fewer than five bookings for the season means that only Keigan Parker and Peter Clarke, with nine yellow cards each, are in immediate danger of a ban.

Keith Southern is favourite for Bean's role while Marc Joseph may also overcome his hamstring injury to take the place of Keith Lasley, who picked up a knock after impressing in the right back slot on Saturday.

Joseph has been a big miss for Blackpool in recent weeks after making an immediate positive impression on signing from Hull.
