An award winning Blackpool restaurant's encounter with fiery chef, Gordon Ramsay, finally comes under the TV spotlight next week.

Former resort restaurant of the year, Clubway 41, features in the latest series of hit Channel 4 show, Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, some 16 months after the celebrity chef spent a week filming in the resort.

Ramsay and his producers spoke to officials from Blackpool Tourism about the award as well as spending time with David Jackson and his partner, Dawn Brindley, who run the 40 seat restaurant

Blackpool tourism chief, Jane Seddon, said she had not yet been shown a copy of the episode in question: "We are waiting to see what they show in the programme on Tuesday. We know what we have said and I will be very interested to see what the programme's producers have used.

"The tourism awards are about the public nominating somewhere where they have had a really good experience in terms of atmosphere, helpfulness of staff, not just the food."

Pre-publicity for the programme says Ramsay will have to: "Strip down the menu, go back to basics and instil some enthusiasm in a demoralised team."

It quotes a menu including 'extraordinary dishes like pork with brie sauce laced with nectarines and spiked with whisky' of which Ramsay said: "I've never encountered such a bizarre recipe. They must have been on the Big Dipper when they came up with that one!"

Asked about the reasons for the delay, a Channel 4 spokesman said: "We don't ever guarantee schedule dates or times in advance. All four programmes were filmed over quite a long period of time. The main reason for that is Gordon's availability."

Restaurant owner, Mr Jackson, who has since changed the name of his Market Street business to Jackson's, was not available for comment in advance of the screening next week.
