A HISTORY lecturer has been awarded the prestigious title of Reader in Cultural History' at St Martin's College.
Dr Mike Huggins has won the award in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements.
The title is awarded only to people with a proven and documented record of research and publication in academic journals, and St Martin's principal and chief executive Prof Chris Carr says: "I'm delighted to record my congratulations to Mike. He has brought distinction to St Martin's College through his publications and research."
Mike, who lives near Windermere, originally trained as a teacher before gaining a PhD in history from Lancaster University. His research interests lie in the history of British leisure over the last two centuries.
