VICKY Foster began dancing in front of her bedroom mirror now she is preparing to bring a sexy corner of Cuba to Blackburn.

The 28-year-old, who lives in Darwen, has relaunched her teaching career with weekly classes in the Heaven and Hell nightclub.

And Blackburn with Darwen Mayor Councillor Yusuf Jan-Virmani helped get things underway by demonstrating his own Salsa skills.

He said: "This is not a new experience for me as I used to Salsa dance to the sounds of African rhythm and found it to be exhilarating.

"And what a great way to relieve the stresses and strains of the day by taking to the dance floor and having a go at Salsa dancing.

"It's also a great way for keeping the extra pounds at bay."

Vicky, who has previously taught Salsa in the Y2K bar and The Met, in Bury, admitted she couldn't wait to show off Salsa and Merengue dance moves.

She said: "I moved here a year ago and I really missed my teaching so I can't wait to get started again.

"People who go along will have fun. It's something different from just going out and getting drunk. For me it was amazing to watch and even more amazing to think that I could actually learn it.

"I've seen a lot of people give up because they said it was too difficult. That's what motivates me to teach to beginners." Vicky was introduced to Salsa dancing by a friend when she was studying towards a degree in performing arts and media studies at Bury College but couldn't get to grips with the Latin-style dancing."

But a year later she went to the Copacabana club in Dale Street, Manchester. And she has been going ever since.
