I am appalled that Lancashire County Council is considering cutting the daily hot meals service and replacing it with a weekly delivery of frozen meals.
As your article explains, the meals on wheels service is not just about food, it's about regular daily contact, a lifeline for many elderly people. I am also concerned about the possible health risk posed by inadequate thawing and cooking of these meals by elderly people who are unused to preparing frozen meals.
