Fairport Convention, the legendary innovators of British folk-rock music, are coming to Lancashire for three February shows as part of their nationwide tour.
The band, which formed back in 1967 and won huge critical acclaim during the 1970s, will be in Burnley, Southport and Blackpool.
Fairport is well-known for groundbreaking albums such as Liege And Lief, recently voted 'Most influential folk album of all time' by BBC Radio 2 listeners.
They disbanded briefly but reformed in the 1980s and have been together touring and recording ever since.
The current line-up features five of the folk rock's finest musicians - Simon Nicol (guitar and vocals), Dave Pegg (bass and backing vocals), Chris Leslie (fiddle, mandolin and vocals), Ric Sanders (violin) and Gerry Conway (drums).
Their new show mixes old and new, with songs from their 2006 album Off The Desk contrasting with classics from Fairport back catalogue such as Matty Groves and Meet On The Ledge
Fairport Convention play Burnley Mechanics on February 14, Southport Arts Centre on February 15 and Blackpool Grand on February 26.
