The clock tower in King William Street, Blackburn, is to vanish. All I can say is it's about time!
The clock tower which used to be a beautiful timepiece was transformed into a huge monstrosity and has rarely told the right time since somebody in their infinite wisdom decided that covering the car park and clock tower in pink concrete cladding would improve the look of our town centre.
Hopefully whoever is making the decisions about improvements this time will take a look at Bolton or Manchester and see what a proper shopping centre should look like.
