RE the story 'Borough ban on blade soccer boots' of January 12. Blades are dangerous, studs are dangerous.

I have been on the receiving end of an injury from blades but am still unsure how different my injury would have been if the player concerned was wearing studs.

I still wear blades and they are much more comfortable than studs as there are fewer pressure points.

Does the council expect parents who have bought blades for their children to buy another pair in the absence of any concrete evidence suggesting they are more dangerous?

It's another example of the council nit picking on small issues and not dealing with bigger issues like provision and maintenance of playing facilities for kids in the borough.

Compare the number of twisted ankles and knees from bladed boots to that from pitches poorly maintained and then talk about safety fears.
