Fylde welcome promotion chasing Bradford and Bingley to the Woodlands on Saturday (kick off 2.15pm) for what may prove to be their toughest National Three (North) home league game all season.

Fylde will need to capture the same spirit and determination which powered them to a win over Preston Grasshoppers in the last home match if they are to challenge the Yorkshire visitors. And they'll hope for another big crowd to cheer them on.

The Bees are the form team in the division and are most pundits' choice for promotion to National Two for the first time in their history. Nuneaton may be top of the table and still unbeaten but the Bees are on a fine roll of eight straight wins.

Fylde's principal concerns will be the fitness of props Matt Filipo and Richard Hanson. They'll hope for the return of utility back Stuart Blackburn who missed the trip to Tynedale with a hamstring pull and winger Nick Royle from holiday.

The home side will have to pick themselves up after going down 16-8 at Tynedale on Saturday.

Fylde dominated possession, especially in the first half, but committed basic errors and lacked penetration.

And it started so well for the visitors. A run by Fylde wing Paul Green led to a chip ahead towards the Tynedale try line.

The defenders couldn't deal with the bouncing ball and flanker Quentin King was on to it in a flash to score the try wide out on the left. Skipper Mike Scott missed the conversion from the touchline but Fylde were ahead.

From the re-start Tynedale drove into Fylde's half for the first time and the visitors were penalised. Beasley kicked the straightforward penalty to reduce the deficit.

On 10 minutes Fylde were dominating possession and it was Tynedale's turn to commit an offence in a kickable position. Mike Scott restored his side's five point advantage. It was all Fylde at this stage of the game.

Their forwards were well in control although the backs were unable to penetrate the excellent 'Dale defence. The visitors lost influential prop Matt Filipo on 24 minutes with a leg injury and he was replaced by Steve Ellis.

The game turned on two particularly crucial moments. The first was against the run of play a minute before the half-time break, Tynedale fought their way inside the Fylde 22 metre line and winger Ed Holmes squeezed over in the right corner.

Beasley's attempted conversion fell short. But against all the odds Tynedale were on equal terms despite having little possession. And Fylde would prove seriously to regret failing to take advantage of their dominance as the referee blew for half-time.

The second game turning moment was on 65 minutes when scrum-half Paul Newton, once more having an excellent game, broke the 'Dale defence and sprinted for the corner. As he touched down for the try he was bundled in to the corner flag. Mr Geraint Roberts decided that Newton had hit the flag first and disallowed the try.

Tynedale regained control and clinched the match on 73 minutes with their, and winger Ed Holmes', second try. One again the conversion was missed but they held out for a 16-8 win.
