BURNLEY have had a fantastic season so far - but just imagine how good it could have been had our away form been better.

The Clarets haven't won away from home since they beat Luton 3-2 on November 5 and they need to address that starting with Cardiff on Saturday.

In the away gimes since then they've played well in patches, especially at QPR and Derby, but it seems to be their concentration levels that have been letting them down.

They've dominated teams at times but then they've let their concentration slip and the opposing teams have nicked a goal.

The Championship is a hard league and you have to play for the full 90 minutes to get your just reward.

But saying that, the fixture list is just crazy.

By the time we take on Preston it'll have been 21 days since Burnley have had a home game and that's ridiculous.

In my day you played at home every other weekend. That's how it was.

But now you can be sent anywhere on any day and that can't help the players.

Sitting on a coach for hours on end isn't good preparation for an athlete.

Looking at the Cardiff game, it's going to be another tough test for Steve Cotterill's side.

But if they get the attitude right they can definitely come away with something.

Against Sheffield Wedneday, we didn't play in the first half and it was only the last half-hour that they bucked their ideas up.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, we need a goalscorer to take the weight off Ade Akinbiyi's shoulders.

We can't rely on Ade or Garreth O'Connor to get the goals but I guess every manager in the country will want one.

They're like gold-dust but I think that's what the Clarets are missing.

To be serious play-off contenders we need to get goals away from home. If we can do that then hopefully we'll be in the mix come the end of the season.
