Boss Billy Davies has indicated that Simon Whaley signed from Bury for £250,000 won't be Preston North End's last transfer window signing.
But he has ruled out a move for Coventry striker Gary McSheffrey, claiming that the Sky Blues would be too expensive.
Davies said: "We do need some new faces in, but they need to be ones who strengthen the squad.
"Gary is a player we admire but Coventry would want too much for him."
