CHORLEY boss Shaun Teale is gunning for revenge as the Magpies prepare to face arch-rivals Bamber Bridge in what is sure to be a keenly contested Boxing Day derby at Victory Park.

Bridge recently knocked Chorley out of the Lancashire Challenge Trophy so Teale wants to avenge that defeat and boost his side's play-off hopes in the process.

"It's a local derby and we owe them one after they beat us in the Cup" said Teale.

"Having played them recently, we know a fair bit about them and the way they like to play and we've worked on things to combat that in training this week.

"If we can be strong defensively then we should have a good chance of getting the result we want."

Monday's game at Victory Park, which kicks off at the earlier time off 11.30am, is the first of four that Teale has described as being 'vitally important' to the Magpies' promotion aspirations.

Chorley remain within striking distance of the play-offs but how they fare over the next fortnight or so could ultimately define the rest of their season.

Teale has a fully fit squad to choose from going into the festive period and he is not perturbed by Monday's early kick off.

He added: "It doesn't really bother us. Hopefully, it might attract a few more down on the day."
