A BLACKBURN man described by a judge as "very dangerous" has been jailed for six years.

David Johnson ran up a catalogue of violence over six months, including a burglary where he fractured a man's eye socket, fractured cheek and nose, and chipped two of his teeth.

Another offence was a violent attack on a 16-year- old girl in the street, breaking her eye socket.

Johnson, 22, of Whitehead Street, appeared at Preston Crown Court for sentence.

He was dealt with for burglary, inflicting grievous bodily harm, two charges of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and two of common assault.

Judge Stuart Baker regarded he burglary as the most serious offence and passed a four year sentence on that.

The defendant forced his way into a home on Angela Street and punched a man in the face.

He was given another two years prison on top for causing grievous bodily harm to a teenager in the New Chapel Street area, striking a "ferocious" blow to her face.

Another incident involved him attacking a man and a15-year-old youth. The man was punched, kicked in the face and stamped on. The youngster was punched.

And in another attack, he used violent towards two others.

The judge said Johnson had a very poor and long criminal record. He went on to add "You are a very dangerous young man."
