THE long arm of the law finally caught up with a Blackburn man who was sentenced for an offence committed five years ago.
Preston Crown Court was told Christopher Whiteside failed to provide a specimen of breath in August 2000 and then gave police the wrong name and date of birth.
He was finally sentenced for offences of failing to provide a breath specimen, no insurance, no licence, perverting the course of justice and cannabis possession.
Whiteside, 35, of Midsummer Street was sentenced to a two-month curfew order requiring him to remain indoors between 9pm and 6am.
He was also sentenced to a one-year rehabilitation order and 80 hours community punishment and banned from driving for three years.
