Walsall Youth 2 Burnley Youth 5: CAYNE Hanley found the net for the third game in a row as Burnley youth team got back to winning ways at Walsall.

The Clarets striker, who made the first team bench twice earlier this year, has missed most of the season so far through injury.

But Hanley is ending the year making up for lost time, bagging a brace against the Saddlers to take his tally to five goals in three games.

Walsall threatened to make it three Alliance League games without victory for the Clarets by snatching an early lead, but the visitors equalised immediately through Kyle Lafferty.

An own goal put Burnley ahead before Northern Ireland striker Lafferty added his second from Chris McCann's through ball.

Hanley made it 4-1 before half time with a sweet finish from 15 yards and the Manchester-born hitman completed the rout on the hour mark to leave coach Terry Pashley purring.

He said: "It was a good performance. We played some good football all through the game and the lads did well after losing an early goal."
