Morecambe have appointed former Northern Ireland, Stockport and Macclesfield boss Sammy McIlroy as their caretaker manager.
The Shrimps' boss Jim Harvey is currently in hospital after suffering a heart attack prior to last Saturday's match at Christie Park against Cambridge United.
Harvey, who acted as McIlroy's assistant during his time with the Northern Ireland national side, is expected to take three months to fully recover.
In the meantime McIlroy, who led Macclesfield to promotion to the Football League in 1997, will be assisted by former Halifax Town boss Mark Lillis.
