ON inquiring about hotel accommodation and asking about no smoking bedrooms. I was flabbergasted to be told at a well-known hotel on the Fylde coast that if we wanted a non-smoking bedroom we would be charged £10 per person per night extra.
I asked why and was informed that they are all newly refurbished rooms and no smokers have been in them.
But I said we are still being penalised, no, was the reply, its because they are newly refurbished and will only be let to non-smokers!
Needless to say we did not book there.
Being charged for not smoking is simply not on.
